UII to hold scientific writing contest

The Chemistry Students Association of the Indonesia Islamic University (UII) of Yogyakarta will hold a scientific writing contest themed "Human Resources in Utilizing Natural Resources and the Environment".

The contest, which is open to university and high school students as individuals or in groups of three, aims to raise students' awareness of the importance of environmental protection.

Fees are Rp 100,000 for university students and Rp 75,000 for high school students and entries close on Saturday, Sept. 17. Nominated students will be expected to present their papers at UII on Sept. 26.

Winners will receive trophies and cash prizes of between Rp 300,000 and Rp 1 million.
