UI-UQ Partnership Produces 62 Global Talents

Universitas Indonesia (UI) and The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, have graduated 62 students from their joint and double degree programmes. The graduation ceremony took place on 16 July 2026. UI Rector Heri Hermansyah stated that over more than two decades, the partnership between UI and UQ has evolved from an educational programme into a collaborative ecosystem encompassing research, innovation, and talent development. He noted that the participation of 62 graduates this year demonstrates that international cooperation can produce tangible impact. The UQ graduation ceremony marked the strong relationship between the two universities. The graduates comprised 35 students from Psychology, 18 from Computer Science, 4 from Economics, Business, and Commerce, 3 from Communication and Arts, and 2 from Engineering. They are the result of educational collaborations allowing students to study in both Indonesia and Australia, gaining international academic, research, and networking experience. The partnership, which began in the early 2000s with a double degree programme in Psychology, has expanded to include various double degree programmes, student and lecturer mobility, research collaboration, and innovation development, now strengthened through the UI–UQ Collaboration Centre at the UI Science Techno Park in Depok. UQ is ranked 40th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2027 and is a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) research-intensive universities. To date, more than 700 students have participated in various double degree and academic mobility programmes organised by UI and UQ.
