UI Surpasses 100,000 Applicants in SNBT 2026

Eduart Wolok, Chairman of the National New Student Selection (SNPMB) 2026 Task Force, announced the list of academic and vocational public universities with the highest number of applicants for the 2026 National Test-Based Selection (SNBT).

Eduart stated that the list reflects the most sought-after academic and vocational institutions among SNBT participants this year. ‘These are the top 10 academic and vocational public universities with the highest number of applicants,’ he said during a press conference at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in Jakarta on Monday, 25 May 2026.

In the academic public university category, the University of Indonesia (UI) topped the list with 100,253 applicants. Sebelas Maret University followed with 91,611 applicants, and Gadjah Mada University recorded 84,637 applicants in this year’s highly competitive national SNBT 2026.

Diponegoro University came in fourth with 83,373 applicants, followed by Brawijaya University with 82,613, and Padjadjaran University with 80,541. Airlangga University and Surabaya State University also made the top ten with 69,260 and 67,952 applicants respectively, as announced by the committee this afternoon.

IPB University and Jakarta State University completed the top ten academic public universities with the highest applicants. IPB recorded 66,401 applicants, while Jakarta State University had 63,003 in this year’s SNBT selection from across Indonesia, as announced by the government yesterday.

In the vocational public university category, Bandung State Polytechnic led with 48,483 applicants. Jakarta State Polytechnic followed with 35,093, and Malang State Polytechnic recorded 28,411 for this year’s national SNBT 2026, as announced by the committee yesterday.

Semarang State Polytechnic ranked fourth with 24,913 applicants, followed by Medan State Polytechnic with 23,564 and Sriwijaya State Polytechnic with 23,097. Padang State Polytechnic, Surabaya Electronic State Polytechnic, and Batam State Polytechnic also featured among the top applicants for this year’s national SNBT.

The SNBT 2026 results were officially announced by SNPMB on Monday, 25 May 2026 at 15:00 WIB via the website https://pengumuman-snbt.snpmb.id and several PTN mirror sites. Participants could check their results by entering their UTBK-SNBT 2026 registration number and date of birth as per their registration data in the SNPMB system.
