UI Student Hones Diplomacy at Harvard World MUN 2026
Depok — Kayla Kwok, a female student from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Indonesia (UI), from the Economics Study Programme’s Special International Class (KKI), class of 2025, successfully honed her diplomacy skills at the prestigious Harvard World Model United Nations (World MUN) 2026.
This participation reinforces UI’s commitment to encouraging its students to actively contribute and compete on the global stage.
“Participation in World MUN provides an extraordinary opportunity to learn firsthand how international diplomacy is conducted, while also boosting confidence as Indonesia’s representative at a global forum,” Kayla said at the UI Depok campus on Thursday.
Kayla’s involvement in Harvard World MUN 2026 reflects the intellectual and collaborative spirit of UI students. Her representation shows that UI students not only excel academically but also have the capacity to contribute to global issues.
Harvard World MUN is known as one of the world’s largest United Nations simulations, which each year brings together thousands of students from various countries to discuss global issues through diplomacy, negotiation, and critical thinking.
In the forum, Kayla participated as an individual delegate who collaborated with international participants and engaged in intensive discussions on the complex global challenges.
The presence of Indonesian students, particularly from UI, at this forum is evidence that Indonesia’s younger generation can compete and play an active role in international diplomacy.
Through her participation, Kayla not only sharpens communication, leadership, and diplomacy skills but also broadens international horizons and builds networks with students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
This experience is an important part of personal development as a future global leader who is adaptable, highly competitive, and ready to face the increasingly interconnected dynamics of the world.
The Dean of FEB UI, Yulianti, expressed appreciation and pride at Kayla’s participation in World MUN 2026. This achievement serves as an inspiration for other FEB UI students to continue exploring international opportunities, develop their potential, and bring the name of UI and Indonesia to the world stage.
She added that FEB UI continually supports all students to be active in international activities, both through academic and non-academic programmes, as part of the campus internationalisation strategy.
With this achievement, UI further reinforces its position as a university that consistently produces high-achieving students who are bold in engaging in global competition. Active participation in international events such as Harvard World MUN is a tangible manifestation of UI’s commitment to developing student leadership, diplomacy, and international networks.
