UI Student Body Demands Strict Sanctions for Campus Sexual Violence Case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK – Deputy Chair of the Student Executive Body of Universitas Indonesia (BEM UI), Fathimah Azzahra, along with Chair of the BEM Faculty of Law UI, Anandaku Dimas Rumi, and the victim’s lawyer Timotius Rajagukguk, delivered a press statement regarding the sexual violence case at the Pusgiwa UI building, Depok, West Java, on Tuesday (14/4/2026). BEM UI has strongly and firmly condemned the act of sexual violence carried out by 16 suspected perpetrators from UI Faculty of Law students and is demanding that the rector promptly issue a decree for dismissal or dropout against the perpetrators, while also urging the public to safeguard and respect the victim’s privacy.
