UI Strengthens Endowment Fund Through Collaboration with Triputra Group

Universitas Indonesia (UI) has established a collaboration with Triputra Group to strengthen the development of education, research, and innovation, as well as to reinforce the UI Endowment Fund. The partnership was marked by a meeting between UI Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, and Triputra Group Founder and Chairman Theodore Permadi (TP) Rachmat on Saturday, 4 July 2026. As a demonstration of commitment, Triputra Group provided support worth Rp 50 billion for the development of Universitas Indonesia and the strengthening of the UI Endowment Fund. This support is directed towards reinforcing the implementation of the three pillars of higher education—through improving the quality of education, developing research and innovation, and expanding access to education for students. Rector Prof. Heri expressed appreciation for Triputra Group’s trust and commitment in supporting the advancement of higher education in Indonesia. He noted that partnerships between universities and the business sector are an important step in building a sustainable education and innovation ecosystem. “Triputra Group’s commitment represents meaningful trust for Universitas Indonesia,” said Prof. Heri. He added that this support not only strengthens institutional development but also serves as a long-term investment to produce impactful research, quality education, and broad access to education. “We hope this collaboration will encourage more partners to contribute to advancing Indonesian higher education,” he stated. Triputra Group is a national business group founded in 1998 by TP Rachmat, a former leader of the Astra Group. The group operates in various sectors—including agribusiness, manufacturing, energy, and trade and services—with several entities listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, such as PT Triputra Agro Persada Tbk and PT Dharma Polimetal Tbk. Beyond its business activities, Triputra Group is known for its active social contributions through various initiatives in education and human resource development. The support from Triputra Group adds to the roster of partner contributions to the UI Endowment Fund, an instrument developed to support scholarship programmes, research and innovation development, academic quality improvement, and various strategic university programmes. Through synergy with partners, UI continues to strengthen a culture of philanthropy to achieve funding independence and increase the university’s contribution to national development. The collaboration between UI and Triputra Group marks a step in expanding UI’s partnerships with the business sector while strengthening the foundation of the institution’s funding independence. This synergy is expected to accelerate the birth of innovation, enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia’s human resources, and maintain the sustainability of Universitas Indonesia’s development through the strengthening of the UI Endowment Fund.
