UI Rector reminds graduates to provide solutions and benefits for society
Depok (ANTARA) - Universitas Indonesia (UI) Rector Prof Heri Hermansyah reminded graduates to apply and produce solutions as well as provide benefits for society.
“After completing education at UI, graduates will face more diverse problems. Therefore, the knowledge and competencies acquired need to be applied to produce solutions and provide benefits for society,” said Heri Hermansyah during the UI Graduation ceremony at the Depok City Hall, West Java, on Friday.
He said that the academic achievements of graduates are part of the results of educational provision that need to be continued through contributions after graduation.
“We hope that UI graduates continue to uphold integrity, keep learning, and be able to work together with various parties. The excellence gained while at UI will be useful to answer the needs of society and contribute to Indonesia’s progress,” said Heri.
The confirmation of these graduates is part of UI’s journey in preparing highly educated human resources with diverse academic achievements and competencies.
After graduation, the graduates will continue their journeys in their respective fields, whether in the professional world, research, entrepreneurship, government, or community service.
For UI, these achievements also affirm that educational success does not stop at graduation.
A total of 4,141 Universitas Indonesia (UI) graduates achieved Cum Laude and 421 Summa Cum Laude from a total of 10,329 graduates.
Among the graduates, 72 were recorded as achieving a perfect cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 4.
These academic achievements are one illustration of the results of the educational process at UI that encourages students to achieve high academic standards while developing competencies according to their fields of study.
The graduates come from various educational programmes and are now continuing their work in various sectors.
The graduation was held in four sessions over two days. The series of events also featured graduation speeches from figures active in government, the professional world, and entrepreneurship, including Deputy Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Ahmad Riza Patria; Deputy Director of Mind.id and member of the UI Board of Trustees (MWA) Dr Dany Amrul Ichdan, and Co-founder of Flip, Rafi Putra Arriyan.
The three shared experiences about their career-building journeys and facing the dynamics of the professional world after completing higher education.
These messages broadened the graduates’ perspectives that academic achievement needs to be continued with the ability to adapt, seize opportunities, and create value.
