Depok (ANTARA) - Rector of Universitas Indonesia (UI) Heri Hermansyah has affirmed that the institution is monitoring the alleged sexual harassment case at the Faculty of Law on its campus. “The Faculty of Law has responded, and the rectorate will monitor how the handling is carried out at the faculty level,” said UI Rector Heri Hermansyah at the UI Depok Campus on Monday. Based on the reports, the Faculty is aware of circulating screenshots of conversations allegedly involving students that contain inappropriate content, including indications of sexual violence. The Faculty strongly condemns all forms of behaviour that degrade human dignity and contradict legal and academic ethical values. Currently, the Faculty is conducting a serious, careful, and comprehensive investigation and verification process. This process upholds principles of prudence and justice. If violations are found, including those potentially breaching criminal law, the Faculty will take firm steps in accordance with applicable provisions and coordinate with relevant authorities. The Faculty emphasises that the safety and comfort of the entire academic community is the top priority. Safe reporting channels and necessary support are available for those in need.
