A lecturer in Financial Administration and Banking at the University of Indonesia (UI), as well as a practising investment planner, Dede Suryanto, states that the Systematic Investment Plan is an alternative long-term investment strategy that is safe and profitable. He explains that this investment strategy encourages every investor to invest regularly and systematically in the same amount, balanced with diversification efforts to reduce the risk of investing in just one instrument, rather than focusing on large-scale investment actions. “The Systematic Investment Plan is an investment strategy that is safe, proven to be profitable, and serves as an alternative for long-term investment,” said Dede Suryanto, who is also the Chairman of the Digital Financial Center (DFC) UI, in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday. He adds that discipline in investing, including holding back from rushing to sell, as well as accuracy in selecting the type of investment instrument, are key to an investor’s success in achieving financial goals. However, in modern times, savings cannot be considered as an investment instrument because the value of the saved money will gradually diminish due to administrative costs, taxes, and inflation. “Now (the public) is shifting to storing (their money) in the form of relatively safe and more profitable investment instruments, for example, mutual funds,” says Dede. To increase public literacy and penetration of mutual fund investment instruments, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), together with the Indonesia Stock Exchange and capital market industry players, is organising “Road to Mutual Fund Week 2026”. The event emphasises the importance of accessible, safe investments that match the risk profiles of Indonesians through the #JustMutualFunds campaign and PINTAR Mutual Funds. As a pioneer of the Systematic Investment Plan or Routine Saving programme in Indonesia, the digital investment app Bibit.id hopes that Mutual Fund Week 2026 will serve as a catalyst for changing public behaviour in managing finances. Head of PR & Corporate Communication at Bibit.id, William, reveals that his company is proud that the Routine Saving movement, which it has promoted for a long time, is now becoming a national agenda together with the regulator and industry players.
