Universitas Indonesia (UI) has officially inaugurated 20 UI Ambassadors for 2026 to strengthen the role of students as representatives and agents of change. Head of UI’s Entrepreneurship and Inter-Institutional Relations Agency, Nia Ayu Ismaniati, expressed appreciation to the students who successfully passed the competitive selection process. Over the next year, the ambassadors will serve as representatives of the university while also driving various activities that support UI’s public promotion and communication. She noted that the UI Ambassadors are selected students who will act as both representatives and role models for the academic community and the public. Meanwhile, UI’s Director of Public Relations, Media, Government, and International Affairs, Erwin Agustian Panigoro, stated that the role of UI Ambassadors continues to evolve in line with the university’s need to produce students who not only represent UI but also deliver tangible impact to society. ‘We have long known UI Ambassadors as the face of Universitas Indonesia. However, this year we want to broaden that role into that of an impact agent who can inspire and bring benefits to the community,’ he said. He explained that the 2026 UI Ambassadors are expected to become catalysts who disseminate the university’s values while initiating activities that have a positive impact on their surroundings. One of the 2026 UI Ambassadors, Keisha Rochelline from the Faculty of Medicine class of 2024, expressed pride and enthusiasm in carrying out the mandate. For her, the UI Ambassador programme is a platform to expand the impact and contribution of students to society. ‘UI Ambassadors must not only be the face of the university, but also deliver real impact through advocacy activities and contributions to the community,’ she said. The event also featured communication skills and creativity classes in the Digital Room to equip the UI Ambassadors in carrying out their roles during their term of service. Through this programme, UI hopes the ambassadors can become superior, inspirational, and impactful representatives of the university, capable of making positive contributions to society, the nation, and the state.
