UI choir books a nat'l record

Indonesia, Jakarta: As many as 3,600 new students of the University of Indonesia took part in a choir to highlight the graduation of at least 3,000 of their seniors on Saturday.

The choir sang 12 songs during the ceremony, which was noted by the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) as the largest student choir.

The choir was not the only cause for celebration, enjoying applause from parents and students who filled the campus hall in Depok, West Java. One of the graduates from the School of Economics won the National Outstanding Student award, bringing honor to the state university. -- JP
