UI Apologises for Display Error in Talent Scouting Programme S1 KKI System
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Universitas Indonesia (UI) has expressed apologies for the inconsistency in the display of selection results status on the Talent Scouting Programme for the Special Class International Bachelor’s Degree (S1 KKI) enrolment system, which occurred on Tuesday (17/3). “This inconsistency occurred within a 40-minute period after the system displayed non-final data,” said UI’s Director of Public Relations, Media, Government, and International Affairs, Erwin Agustian Panigoro, in an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. Erwin assessed that this moment could cause confusion and disappointment, especially for applicants who received the inaccurate information temporarily. To address this, UI has opened assistance for applicants needing further explanations via email to sipp@ui.ac.id. Erwin stated that the university understands the disappointment felt by the applicants and assures that prospective students who did not pass can pursue other admission pathways, keeping opportunities to continue education at UI wide open. Besides the Talent Scouting pathway, UI is also opening registrations through the national SNBT pathway (25 March–7 April 2026), independent pathways including PPKB (15 May–19 June 2026), Prestasi Pathway Selection (4–30 May 2026), and SIMAK Bachelor’s and Vocational (8 May–5 June 2026), as well as the KKI pathway encompassing SIMAK KKI Wave I (2 March–2 April 2026), SIMAK KKI Wave II (4–30 May 2026), and Global Talent KKI (3–16 July 2026). “UI is also striving to provide closer and more informative guidance, so that every prospective student can undergo the selection process with confidence and full hope towards the best education,” said Erwin Agustian Panigoro. It is known that the issue arose after the selection results announcement released on Tuesday (17/3) at 21:30 WIB experienced a sudden change in a short time. Several prospective students who were initially declared accepted suddenly had their status changed to not accepted.
