UGM to fetch its new students

YOGYAKARTA: Gadjah Mada University (UGM) is offering a new pick- up service for new students coming from outside Yogyakarta to enroll for the coming school year.

The head of the Pick-up and Register service, Bambang Rusdihardjo, said here that lecturers and older students would provide the pick-up service around the clock.

There are three designated pick-up points: at Umbulharjo bus station, the Tugu train station and Adisucipto airport, with the service being provided from June 20 through June 28. The pick-up points will be open from 1 a.m. to 3 p.m., 11 p.m. to 8 a.m., and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m, respectively.

"With this service, therefore, we would like to tell all the parents that they do not have to worry about accompanying their children to Yogyakarta. We will take care of them, even for those who forget to confirm their pick-up," Bambang said, adding that the service would be provided for free.

Bambang said students interested in the service could register at 0274-901982, 0274-901829 or 08122806075. -- JP
