The return journey of 30 students from the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Community Service and Empowerment Learning Programme (KKN PPM) from Biak, Papua, to Yogyakarta was an unusual one. After 50 days of service in Kampung Saribra, Bromsi Island, Aimando Padaido District, Biak Numfor Regency, they travelled back to Yogyakarta aboard an Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) Airbus A400M aircraft. The TNI AU’s largest transport plane was deployed to transport the UGM KKN students for a specific reason: to save costs. The information was initially posted on an X account. When confirmed, the Coordinator of the UGM KKN-PPM x KAGAMA Task Force, Mas Yanto Herlianto, verified that the UGM KKN students did indeed use the A400M aircraft for their return trip. According to him, there were no issues in the students’ transportation process from departure to return. ‘It is true. The KKN location was in Biak, with 30 students,’ he said.
