UGM maintains top record
SEMARANG: Yogyakarta's Gadjah Mada University (UGM) maintained its record as the best state-run university in Indonesia, according to a survey carried out by experts.
The National Accreditation Body (BAN), which conducted the investigation, ranked Jakarta's University of Indonesia (UI) and Semarang-based Diponegoro University (Undip) in second and third places respectively.
This was followed by Bandung's Padjajaran University, Malang's Brawijaya University and Airlangga University in Surabaya.
The results of the survey was made available to the media on Thursday by Undip rector Eko Budihardjo in Semarang.
BAN said UGM managed to score an A for 43 of its study programs, Bs for 17 study programs, and a C for one study program.
"Of the 31 state-run accredited universities, the best 10 are prominent universities based in Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi," Eko said. --Antara
