YOGYAKARTA (Antara): The U.S Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kikas) and Gadjah Mada University (UGM) on Monday agreed to develop small and medium industries (SMIs) in and around Yogyakarta province by first conducting training courses for the entrepreneurs concerned.
"Motivated by a strong commitment to the nation's progress and willingness to make sacrifices in the nation's interest, we have agreed to conduct the program," Kikas general chairman Tony Agus Ardie said on the occasion here.
The idea to cooperate in the effort was first raised by the university and would cover small and medium scale industries. The agreed program included the syllabus and the budget of training courses.
Ardie said his organization had agreed to finance the program and was ready to help the participating small and medium scale industries sell their products in domestic and international markets.
"Kikas will cooperate with its business partners within the country and in the United States," Tony added.
