UDNG Opens Up About Share Price Dynamics and Shrimp Business Prospects - BCA Sekuritas
PT Agro Bahari Nusantara Tbk (UDNG) will hold an Incidental Public Expose to provide explanations regarding the temporary suspension of the company’s share trading as well as to present the company’s latest performance. This step is taken in response to a request from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) following the UDNG shares entering a cooling down phase in April 2026.
Share Price Dynamics
In its presentation, management explained that UDNG shares once reached a high of Rp5,700 per share in early January 2026. However, by mid-April 2026, the share price had corrected to around Rp995 per share. Management emphasised that the price movement and transaction volume were purely market dynamics.
The company identified several external factors pressuring the overall share price, including the potential MSCI rating downgrade and economic uncertainty due to conflicts in the Middle East. Additionally, reports of the “Radioactive Shrimp Cs-137” case in the export supply chain to the United States temporarily hindered distribution and lowered selling prices for shrimp at the producer level.
Financial and Operational Performance
From a financial perspective, UDNG recorded a significant surge in revenue, growing from Rp3.13 billion in 2024 to Rp21.62 billion in 2025. Nevertheless, the company still posted a comprehensive net loss of Rp3.43 billion in 2025, slightly improved from the Rp3.66 billion loss in the previous year.
Operationally, the cultivation of Vannamei shrimp, which is the company’s main business, continues to run normally. Currently, UDNG manages around 45 production ponds spread across two locations in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, namely West Bangka and South Bangka.
Strategy and Future Prospects
To increase production capacity, the company has taken strategic steps by adjusting stocking densities according to extreme weather conditions. UDNG has also extended the cultivation period (Day of Cultivation) to produce larger-sized shrimp with high productivity.
“We are actively seeking new buyer partners through a bidding system to ensure the best prices,” stated management in the document. In addition, UDNG is committed to continuously adopting the latest technology through farmer forums to maintain the long-term sustainability of the business.
