UD Trucks Launches Quester Model Year 2026 at GIIAS 2026
At the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, UD Trucks Indonesia launched the Quester Model Year 2026, which it claims can increase fleet productivity while reducing operational costs. This move aligns with the growing demands of the logistics, distribution, construction, and mining sectors, which require vehicles with high uptime and more efficient ownership costs. UD Trucks Indonesia President Director Johan Kleinsteuber stated that the refinements to the Quester Model Year 2026 were made in response to evolving customer needs. Updates to the commercial vehicle include ESCOT automated transmission technology for the GH8 and GH11 engine options, a Fuel Coach feature to aid fuel consumption efficiency, Cruise Control, and an Engine Management System. In terms of safety, the vehicle is equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), an Electronic Braking System (EBS), and an SRS Airbag to enhance driver protection during operation. Beyond vehicle updates, UD Trucks is also strengthening fleet management through the My UD Fleet digital platform. This system allows operators to monitor vehicle conditions in real time, enabling more planned maintenance and minimising potential operational disruptions. A key highlight of the Quester Model Year 2026 is its readiness to use B50 biodiesel in accordance with applicable Indonesian specifications. This readiness is seen as an anticipatory step amidst government efforts to expand the use of biofuels to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. The launch of the Quester Model Year 2026 was also marked by a symbolic handover of a unit to PT Cakraindo Mitra International, a company engaged in the transportation of chemicals and dangerous goods. The company considers a fleet with high safety standards to be a primary requirement in supporting complex logistics operations. At GIIAS 2026, UD Trucks also showcased the Quester CWE 280, which is already compatible with B50 biodiesel, as well as the New Kuzer Box. The presence of these two models indicates the development direction for commercial vehicles that not only prioritises performance, but also operational efficiency, fleet management digitalisation, and readiness to face national energy policies.
