UBTH Enhances Quality with Pharmacy and Pharmacist Profession Programmes Achieving Excellent Accreditation
Educational quality at Bakti Tunas Husada University (BTH) in Tasikmalaya continues to demonstrate significant improvement, as evidenced by the achievement of excellent accreditation status for two programmes simultaneously: Bachelor of Pharmacy and Pharmacist Profession.
This latest achievement further adds to the growing list of BTH programmes that have previously attained this highest accreditation status.
Rector of BTH Tasikmalaya, Prof Drs Ruswanto M.Si, explained that the decision resulted from a plenary meeting of the Health Higher Education Accreditation Board held on 28 February 2026.
“Based on the accreditation board’s plenary meeting on 28 February 2026, the status of the Bachelor of Pharmacy programme and the Pharmacist Profession programme has been determined as excellent accreditation. This certainly serves as evidence that the quality and standard of education we provide to students continues to improve,” he said on Thursday (12 March).
According to him, achieving excellent accreditation is not something obtained instantly. It requires substantial effort and consistency in improving educational quality, ranging from faculty competence, quality of human resources, to the completeness of supporting facilities and infrastructure.
“Our campus is supported by highly adequate facilities, including laboratories with complete equipment. Additionally, we are currently constructing a multipurpose building that will be used for various large-scale student activities,” he explained.
Ruswanto added that the excellent accreditation achievement represents a special source of pride for BTH University. In fact, this achievement makes BTH the only campus in the East Priangan, Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka, and Kuningan regions that has a Pharmacy and Pharmacist Profession programme with excellent accreditation status.
“This is certainly a proud achievement and serves as evidence that the quality of education at BTH University continues to develop in a better direction,” he concluded.
Priority focus
Similar sentiments were expressed by the Chair of the Foundation Supervisory Board of Bakti Tunas Husada University Tasikmalaya, Yoris Rusamsi R. Sastramiharja, S.H., M.H.
He stressed that BTH University is a developing higher education institution that places educational quality as its primary priority.
“This excellent accreditation achievement is evidence of our commitment and concrete proof of our dedication to maintaining educational quality. We are also the only private higher education institution in the East Priangan region that has a Pharmacy and Pharmacist programme with excellent accreditation status,” he said.
Yoris added that the achievement was realised through various efforts to strengthen the quality of educational services, including infrastructure improvements and the development of cooperation with various institutions and industries.
“Throughout this period, we have continuously developed educational services to become increasingly high-quality. We also establish cooperation with various industries, such as the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, both domestically and internationally,” he explained.
According to Yoris, cooperation with the industrial sector is essential for supporting the quality of student education, particularly in providing practical experience through internship and work practice programmes.
“This cooperation also opens significant opportunities for graduates to enter the workforce, both domestically and internationally. We regularly facilitate graduates to work abroad, such as in Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia and several other countries,” he added.
New student admissions
Meanwhile, the Head of Marketing and Communication at BTH University, Asep Sufyan, stated that the improvement in accreditation status further strengthens the position of BTH University as one of the leading private higher education institutions in West Java.
“With excellent accreditation status for the Pharmacy and Pharmacist Profession programmes, BTH University becomes a highly competitive higher education institution. This also serves as a quality assurance guarantee for prospective new students who wish to continue their education at BTH,” he concluded.
Currently, BTH University has also opened its second wave of new student admissions (PMB) running from 1 February to 31 July 2026.
In this second wave, various registration pathways are available, including regular test pathways, report card score pathways, tahfidz pathways, pathways for children of teachers and healthcare workers, non-academic achievement pathways, leadership pathways, and community organisation pathways.
“BTH University is open to all members of society who wish to pursue higher education,” said Asep.
