UBSI Tegal Students Win KPop Dance Cover Competition, Showcasing Skills Beyond Technology
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEGAL – Students at the University of Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Tegal campus have once again achieved remarkable success. Not only excelling in academics and information technology, UBSI students have also demonstrated their best talents in the fields of art and creativity.
This was proven through the success of two students from the Information Systems study program who won first and second place in the KPop Dance Cover Competition (SOLO Category) as part of FESTIFLA 8.0, held by the Catholic University (Unika) Soegijapranata, Semarang, on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The event was attended by participants from various regions in Central Java. Davin Candra Sadewa, who performed under the stage name Davin Hank, won first place. Aulia Putri, known as Putri Maria, successfully won second place in the Solo Dance Cover category.
The success of both students proves that Information Systems students at UBSI Tegal campus have abilities that are not limited to academics and technology, but are also able to compete and excel in the field of performing arts.
In the competition, participants were judged based on various aspects, including movement technique, creativity in presenting choreography, expression, stage presence, and the suitability of the performance to the concept being presented.
Through consistent practice, hard work, and high spirits, Davin and Aulia successfully presented their best performances in front of the judges.
This achievement also proves that students are able to develop their potential in a balanced way between academic and non-academic activities.
Davin expressed his gratitude for the results achieved and said that this achievement would motivate him to continue to develop. According to him, the competition was quite tough because many participants had extraordinary abilities.
“I hope this achievement will motivate me to continue learning and developing my abilities, both in academics and in the fields that I am interested in. Thank you to UBSI Tegal campus for always providing support for students to achieve success,” he said in a statement on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Aulia conveyed a similar sentiment. She said that the training process during the preparation for the competition was a valuable experience that formed discipline and self-confidence. She is grateful for winning second place. According to her, this competition provided many valuable experiences and lessons.
“I learned to be more confident, disciplined, and brave in showing my abilities. Hopefully, this achievement can be an inspiration for other students to continue developing their talents and not hesitate to participate in various competitions,” said Aulia.
Sopian Aji, as the Head of the Information Systems Department at UBSI Tegal campus, also expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the two students. This achievement shows that UBSI students have great potential to excel in various fields.
“We are very proud of Davin and Aulia’s achievements. This shows that UBSI Tegal campus students have great potential not only in the field of technology, but also in the fields of art and creativity,” he said.
He hopes that this achievement can be an inspiration for all students to continue exploring and developing their talents and interests, and to be brave to compete in various events, both at the regional and national levels.
