Efforts to introduce local business potential through digital technology have gained attention during the BSI Explore 2026 series. Through the development of an MSME E-Catalogue application, students from the Bina Sarana Informatika University (UBSI) Tasikmalaya campus, acting as a Creative Digital Campus, have presented a digital solution for entrepreneurs in Salawu Village, Salawu District, Tasikmalaya Regency. The application was officially socialised and donated to the Salawu Village Government on Thursday (27/8) at the Salawu Village Hall as a form of student contribution to supporting digitalisation and expanding the reach of MSME product promotion.

The event was attended by the Head of Salawu Village, Tatang Somantri, alongside village officials, MSME entrepreneurs, and the residents of Salawu Village. Also present were the Field Supervisor for the BSI Explore 2026 Team, Yani Sri Mulyani; the Head of Student Affairs at UBSI Tasikmalaya, Miftah Farid Adiwisastra; and members of the BSI Explore Salawu Team.

The Head of Salawu Village, Tatang Somantri, expressed his appreciation for the programme presented by the students. According to him, the E-Catalogue application is a form of student care in helping the village government and MSME actors utilise technology to introduce and develop local products.

“We highly appreciate the programme carried out by the BSI Explore 2026 students. The presence of this E-Catalogue is a positive step to help MSME actors in Salawu Village introduce their products more widely. We hope this application can be utilised and developed sustainably to provide benefits for the community and MSMEs in Salawu Village,” said Tatang in a press release received in Tasikmalaya on Monday (31/8).

Support for the programme was also expressed by the Head of Student Affairs at UBSI Tasikmalaya, Miftah Farid Adiwisastra. He encouraged students to continue producing works that are not only part of academic activities but also provide real benefits to society through the application of information technology knowledge and skills.

“I hope this E-Catalogue application does not stop merely as a student project, but can truly be utilised by the community. The MSME products of Salawu Village have the potential to be known more widely. With the support of digital technology, we hope the reach can expand from a local level to a national level, and even open opportunities towards international markets,” said Miftah.

Meanwhile, the Field Supervisor for the BSI Explore 2026 Team, Yani Sri Mulyani, appreciated the hard work of the students in completing the programme. In her view, the development and donation of the application is a form of applying science and technology tailored to the needs of the community.

“What these students have done is a tangible form of applying the knowledge they have gained during their studies. We hope the E-Catalogue application can continue to be used by the village government and MSME actors so that the benefits of the BSI Explore 2026 programme can still be felt even after the students’ field activities have concluded,” explained Yani.

The series of activities continued with a presentation of the MSME E-Catalogue application by Aditia, a presenter from the BSI Explore 2026 Team. During the session, Aditia explained the functions, features, and methods of using the application as a digital medium to display information and products from Salawu Village MSMEs.
