UBSI Students' DIGI-WOM App Streamlines Machine Damage Reporting at PT Jembo Cable

TANGERANG - Students from Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), known as a Digital Creative Campus, handed over the Digitalisasi Pelaporan Kerusakan Mesin Produksi melalui Sistem Work Order Maintenance Berbasis Web (DIGI-WOM) application to PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk on Wednesday (17/6/2026). The application was presented to company representative Muhamad Ramzy Raihan as an implementation of student work supporting digital transformation in the manufacturing industry. DIGI-WOM was developed as a solution to the previous manual process of reporting machine damage, which relied on a physical ledger. This web-based system is designed to accelerate the communication flow between the production department and the maintenance team, allowing machine damage handling to be carried out more effectively and efficiently. Through this application, foremen or supervisors in the production area can directly report machine damage using a tablet device. The report is received in real-time by the technician team, enabling repair work to be addressed immediately without waiting for manual administrative processes. The student team applied the Waterfall method during development to ensure that each stage, from requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, to implementation, was carried out systematically. DIGI-WOM is equipped with a work progress monitoring feature, allowing technicians to update the repair status from the reporting stage until the job is declared complete. Muhamad Ramzy Raihan, representing PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk, appreciated the innovation produced by the UBSI students. According to him, the implementation of this digital system provides tangible benefits in improving the company’s operational effectiveness. ‘Digitalisation through the DIGI-WOM application greatly helps accelerate the response to machine damage in the production area. In addition, this system makes it easier for the company to store damage history more neatly so that it can be used as material for evaluation and future decision-making,’ he said in a press release on Sunday (5/7/2026). The development of the DIGI-WOM application also received full support from internal company parties, including IT Manager Mohamad Zaenudin, field mentor Aditiya Hermawan, and Muhamad Ramzy Raihan as the user involved in the system implementation process. Ririn, a member of the UBSI student development team, stated that this project was a valuable experience as it provided an opportunity to apply knowledge gained in lectures directly in an industrial environment. ‘For us, developing DIGI-WOM is not just about fulfilling a final assignment, but an opportunity to present a solution that the company truly needs. We hope this application can help simplify the reporting and maintenance handling process and provide long-term benefits for the operations of PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk,’ said Ririn.
