UBSI Students' DIGI-WOM App Streamlines Machine Damage Reporting at PT Jembo Cable
TANGERANG - Students from Bina Sarana Informatika University (UBSI), acting as a Creative Digital Campus, officially handed over the Digitalisation of Production Machine Damage Reporting via a Web-Based Work Order Maintenance System (DIGI-WOM) to PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk on Wednesday (17/06/2026). The application was presented to company representative Muhamad Ramzy Raihan as an implementation of student innovation to support digital transformation within the manufacturing sector.
DIGI-WOM was developed as a solution to the previous process of reporting machine damage, which was still conducted manually using large ledgers. This web-based system is designed to accelerate the communication flow between the production department and the maintenance team, ensuring that machine repair processes can be handled more effectively and efficiently.
Through this application, foremen and supervisors in the production area can report machine damage directly using tablets. These reports are received in real-time by the technician team, allowing repair work to be addressed immediately without waiting for manual administrative processes.
During the development process, the student team applied the Waterfall method to ensure that every stage—from requirements analysis, system design, and development to testing and implementation—was conducted systematically. DIGI-WOM is equipped with a job progress monitoring feature, allowing technicians to update repair statuses from the initial reporting stage until the work is declared complete.
Muhamad Ramzy Raihan, representing PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk, expressed his appreciation for the innovation produced by the UBSI students. He noted that the implementation of this digital system provides tangible benefits in increasing the company’s operational effectiveness.
“Digitalisation through the DIGI-WOM application significantly helps accelerate the response to machine damage in the production area. Furthermore, this system makes it easier for the company to store damage history more neatly, which can be utilised as material for evaluation and decision-making in the future,” he stated in a press release on Sunday (05/07/2026).
The development of the DIGI-WOM application also received full support from the company’s internal parties, including IT Manager Mohamad Zaenudin, field mentor Aditiya Hermawan, and Muhamad Ramzy Raihan, who participated as a user in the system implementation process.
Meanwhile, Ririn, part of the UBSI student development team, stated that this project served as a valuable experience, providing an opportunity to apply academic knowledge directly within an industrial environment.
“For us, developing DIGI-WOM was not merely about fulfilling a final project requirement, but an opportunity to provide a solution that is truly needed by the company. We hope this application can simplify the reporting and maintenance handling process and provide long-term benefits for the operations of PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk,” said Ririn.
Through the implementation of DIGI-WOM, UBSI demonstrates its commitment to producing graduates who not only master theory but are also capable of creating digital innovations that provide real solutions for the business and industrial worlds. The collaboration between students and industrial partners is expected to continue producing various technological works that are adaptive to the progress of digital transformation in Indonesia.
