UBSI Student's AiDen App Cracks Top 100 in Google's JuaraVibeCoding

A student from the Software Engineering (RPL) programme at Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), Adent Fallah Amorisyah, has achieved national recognition by securing a place in the Top 100 Best Projects. This achievement was earned at the JuaraVibeCoding event organised by Google for Developers and Google Cloud. The competition was attended by more than 17,000 participants from various developer communities across Indonesia. This accomplishment proves that UBSI RPL students are capable of presenting artificial intelligence (AI)-based innovations that are relevant to the needs of the education sector while competing at a national level. Adent developed an application called AiDen (AI Learning Assistant), an AI-based learning assistant designed to help students understand lecture materials more effectively, interactively, and personally. The application utilises Gemini AI technology, which can understand the context of documents uploaded by users, providing a smarter learning experience tailored to individual needs. AiDen is equipped with various key features, such as document-based question and answer, automatic summary generation, interactive flashcards to aid memorisation, and AI-based quizzes that can measure students’ level of understanding. The solution was developed as a companion to the Learning Management System (LMS) to make independent learning more effective, efficient, and adaptive to developments in educational technology. To support the application’s performance, Adent utilised several modern technologies, including React, Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB Atlas, Gemini AI, and Google Cloud Run. This combination of technologies allows AiDen to provide fast, responsive, and easily accessible AI-based services. UBSI, as a Creative Digital Campus, continues to encourage its students to develop digital innovations that address challenges in industry and education. Support through an industry-based curriculum, learning about the latest technology, and participation in various national competitions is part of UBSI’s commitment to producing competent and globally competitive graduates. The Head of the UBSI RPL Study Programme, Dr Ir Taufik Baidawi, expressed his appreciation for Adent’s achievement. He stated that this success demonstrates the quality of UBSI RPL students in developing technology-based solutions. He hopes this achievement will inspire other students to continue innovating, improving their competence, and daring to compete at national and international levels. The AiDen project will not stop as a competition entry; it will be further developed into a thesis focusing on the implementation of AI technology to support the learning process in higher education. This development is expected to make a real contribution to the advancement of educational technology while strengthening the culture of research and innovation on campus.
