Sustainable digital transformation through technological innovation was the main focus of the National Seminar on Technology and Informatics Innovation, organised by the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics at UBSI in a hybrid format at the BSI Convention Center in Bekasi on Thursday (9/4/2026).

The event was attended by more than 80 participants and speakers from academia and practitioners, both in person and online, as a contribution to the development of science and technology.

The seminar was opened with a welcoming speech by UBSI’s Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Dr Diah Puspitasari, representing UBSI Rector Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Wahyudi.

In her remarks, she emphasised that the theme “Sustainable Digital Transformation through Generative Innovation and Intelligent Ecosystems” is highly relevant to contemporary developments.

“Digital transformation today is no longer merely an option, but a necessity. Advancements in technologies such as artificial intelligence, generative AI, big data, and the Internet of Things have shaped a new ecosystem that demands cross-disciplinary and cross-sector collaboration,” she stated.

According to her, universities have a strategic role as centres for the development of science and innovation.

The national seminar forum not only serves as a platform for sharing research findings but also builds a knowledge ecosystem capable of providing tangible contributions to society, industry, and national development, particularly in facing the Society 5.0 era.

In addition, UBSI continues to strengthen partnerships with various parties, including computer higher education associations at the central and DKI Jakarta levels, as part of efforts to promote broader collaboration.

This event reflects UBSI’s commitment as a Creative Digital Campus in encouraging the birth of technology-based innovations that are not only academically excellent but also have sustainable social and economic impacts.

She stated that UBSI is committed to continuously promoting the emergence of technology-based innovations that are not only academically superior but also have sustainable social and economic impacts.

“We believe that collaboration between academics, practitioners, and the government is key to creating adaptive and innovative solutions to address global challenges towards Golden Indonesia,” she added.

At the end of her speech, she also expressed appreciation to all speakers, researchers, and academics who participated in the seminar. She hopes that this event can provide significant benefits for the development of science and encourage the nation’s progress forward.
