UBSI Software Engineering Students Win Best Scriptwriting Award at PIKMI 2026
Student creativity in blending technology and art has once again yielded national-level achievements. This time, students from the Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Software Engineering (RPL) programme secured the Best Scriptwriting Award at the 2026 Indonesian Student Innovation and Creativity Exhibition (PIKMI) in the national short film competition category.
The award was won through a short film that followed the competition theme ‘Human x AI: New Narratives in Cinema’, exploring the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence through creative and innovative visual storytelling.
The award-winning team comprised Debora Gloria Ayawaila, Sawaludin, Agusti Tantang Priyosetyo, Mohamad Fachri Haikal, and Fadhilah Alhadiid under the guidance of Sifa Fauziah. The award ceremony took place during the PIKMI 2026 Awarding event held on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at BSI Convention Center Hall C.
Addressing Human and AI Issues in Short Film
During the competition, UBSI Software Engineering (RPL) students captured the judges’ attention with strong, creative, and meaningful scriptwriting skills.
The theme ‘Human x AI: New Narratives in Cinema’ challenged participants to explore the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence through innovative short film storytelling.
Sifa Fauziah expressed pride in her students’ national competition achievement.
‘I am extremely proud of the students’ hard work, creativity, and collaborative spirit. This achievement proves that Software Engineering (RPL) students excel not only in technology but also in producing inspiring creative works,’ she said in a release cited on Monday, 1 June 2026.
She hopes this achievement will motivate students to continue creating and developing their skills across various creative fields.

Meanwhile, Taufik Baidawi also praised the students’ success at PIKMI 2026. ‘Congratulations to the students for achieving a commendable feat in this national competition. May this success inspire other Software Engineering (RPL) students to stay active in competitions, nurture creativity, and produce innovative works,’ he said.
