UBSI Purwokerto Students Encouraged to Become Entrepreneurs While Still at University
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PURWOKERTO - Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) University’s Purwokerto campus held a Mandatory Entrepreneurship Seminar on Monday (28/4/2026). The event was attended by second-year students of the Computer Technology study program as part of the university’s effort to instill an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age.
With the theme ‘Becoming an Excellent and Impactful Creative Young Entrepreneur’, the seminar featured an inspiring speaker, Puji, who is also the Chairman of ASPIKMAS and owner of Kaos Ngapak. He shared his experiences in building a business from scratch and sustaining its growth amidst increasingly dynamic business competition.
In his presentation, Puji not only recounted his business journey but also provided a realistic picture of the challenges and opportunities that students could leverage. He emphasized that success in entrepreneurship does not come instantly but through a long learning process, consistency, and the courage to take the first step even with limitations.
Puji also encouraged students to change their perspective on failure. According to him, failure is not the end but an important part of the learning process in building a sustainable business.
“Many people wait for the right time, but the best time is now. Start small because that’s where we learn and grow. The key to success is consistency and the courage to try,” he said in a press release on Sunday (17/5/2026).
The Chairman of the BSI Entrepreneur Center (BEC) at the Purwokerto campus, Joko Dwi M, affirmed that this seminar is part of the university’s commitment to creating a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem within the student community. He explained that students need more than just theoretical knowledge in the classroom but also practical insights and direct experience from industry practitioners.
He added that through activities like this, the university aims to encourage students to be more daring in trying new things, developing ideas, and being able to see opportunities amidst the rapid development of digital technology.
“Students need to be equipped not only with theory but also with experience and practical insights. We want them to be brave enough to try, brave enough to fail, and continue to grow so that they can create their own business opportunities,” he said.
The seminar was interactive, with discussion and Q&A sessions that were enthusiastically received by the participants. Many students began to realize that business opportunities do not always require large capital but rather creativity, courage, and the ability to see opportunities in simple things.
Through this activity, UBSI’s Purwokerto campus reaffirmed its commitment to producing adaptive, creative, and entrepreneurial students. In the face of an increasingly dynamic world of work, starting a business while still at university is a smart strategy for facing a future full of challenges as well as opportunities.
