UBSI Pontianak's Information System EXPO 2026 Showcases 35 Student Digital Solutions
PONTIANAK – The Information Systems Study Programme of Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Pontianak campus, positioning itself as a Creative Digital Campus, has once again demonstrated its commitment to producing innovative graduates ready to meet the needs of the world of work through the Information Systems EXPO 2026.
Held over two days, on Wednesday and Thursday, 8-9 July 2026, at the UBSI Pontianak campus hall, the event served as a stage for students to introduce digital works born from the real needs of society and industry.
A total of 35 exhibition stands presented a variety of applications and information systems developed by students.
Unlike mere academic projects, each work was designed around problems faced by government agencies, organisations, SMEs, schools and companies that served as the students’ research partners.
All applications have gone through needs analysis, design, development, testing and implementation stages, making them ready to be handed over to partners as digital solutions that can be used immediately.
This is what makes the Information Systems EXPO not merely an exhibition, but tangible proof of the university’s contribution to supporting digital transformation across various sectors.
The atmosphere at the expo was lively. Students, lecturers, invited guests and partners enthusiastically visited each stand to see the innovations being presented firsthand.
Beyond serving as a space to appreciate students’ work, the event also opened up opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry in delivering technology-based solutions capable of improving the effectiveness of services, administration and data management.
The event was officially opened by the Head of UBSI Pontianak City Campus, Eri Bayu Pratama. In his remarks, he commended the dedication of the entire academic community in making the Information Systems EXPO 2026 a success.
“The Information Systems EXPO is real proof that students do not only learn theory in the classroom, but are also able to produce works that deliver direct benefits to society and industry,” he said in a statement on Monday (20/7/2026).
He praised the hard work of the Information Systems Study Programme and all its students for presenting such remarkable innovations, expressing hope that the event would continue to grow as a forum for collaboration and creativity, and for the emergence of digital solutions with wide-ranging impact.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Information Systems Study Programme at UBSI Pontianak campus, Muhammad Sony Maulana, explained that the event was a concrete implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach applied in the teaching process.
According to him, students are not only required to be able to develop systems, but also to understand user needs and produce solutions that can genuinely be applied.
“The Information Systems EXPO is not merely an exhibition of student assignments, but a form of academic accountability as well as a tangible contribution to society. All the systems on display were born from the real needs of partners, so they have high implementation value. We hope these students’ works can be utilised on a sustainable basis by agencies and companies as part of digital transformation,” Sony said.
He added that the success of the expo served as motivation for the Information Systems Study Programme to continue delivering learning that adapts to technological developments while remaining aligned with industry needs.
Through the 35 digital innovations on display, students demonstrated not only technical competence in building information systems, but also critical thinking, the ability to analyse user needs, and the capacity to create applicable, impactful solutions.
The success of Information Systems EXPO 2026 further strengthens the position of the Information Systems Study Programme at UBSI Pontianak campus as a programme consistently producing competitive, creative graduates ready to contribute in the era of digital transformation.
Going forward, the expo is expected to remain an annual agenda bringing together academia, industry, government and society in driving the emergence of digital innovations that deliver real benefits across various sectors.
