UBSI Pontianak's Information System EXPO 2026 Showcases 35 Student Digital Solutions

The Information Systems Study Programme at Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) Pontianak campus, known as a Creative Digital Campus, has reaffirmed its commitment to producing innovative, job-ready graduates through the Information System EXPO 2026. Held over two days on Wednesday and Thursday, 8-9 July 2026, in the UBSI Pontianak campus hall, the event provided a stage for students to introduce digital works born from the real needs of society and industry. A total of 35 exhibition stands presented various applications and information systems developed by students. Unlike mere academic projects, each work was designed based on problems faced by government agencies, organisations, SMEs, schools, and companies that served as student research partners. All applications have undergone stages of needs analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation, making them ready to be handed over to partners as immediately usable digital solutions. This transforms the Information System EXPO from a mere exhibition into tangible proof of higher education’s contribution to supporting digital transformation across various sectors. The expo atmosphere was lively, with students, lecturers, invited guests, and partners enthusiastically visiting each stand to see the innovations presented. Beyond serving as a space for student appreciation, the event also opened opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry to deliver technology-based solutions that improve service effectiveness, administration, and data management. The event was officially opened by the Head of UBSI Pontianak Campus, Eri Bayu Pratama, who praised the dedication of the entire academic community in making the expo a success. ‘The Information System EXPO is real proof that students do not only learn theory in the classroom but are also capable of producing work that provides direct benefits to society and industry,’ he said. He expressed appreciation for the hard work of the Information Systems Study Programme and all students who presented remarkable innovations, hoping the event would continue to grow as a platform for collaboration, creativity, and impactful digital solutions. Meanwhile, the Head of the Information Systems Study Programme, Muhammad Sony Maulana, explained that the event is a concrete implementation of the Project-Based Learning approach applied in the curriculum. He noted that students are not only required to develop systems but also to understand user needs and produce truly applicable solutions. ‘The Information System EXPO is not just an exhibition of student assignments; it is a form of academic accountability and a real contribution to society. All systems on display were born from the real needs of partners, giving them high implementative value. We hope these student works can be utilised sustainably by agencies and companies as part of digital transformation,’ he said. He added that the success of the expo motivates the Information Systems Study Programme to continue delivering adaptive learning aligned with technological developments and industry needs. Through the 35 digital innovations exhibited, students demonstrated not only technical competence in building information systems but also critical thinking, user needs analysis, and the ability to create applicable, impactful solutions. The success of the Information System EXPO 2026 further strengthens the programme’s position as a consistent producer of competitive, creative graduates ready to contribute in the era of digital transformation.
