UBSI Pontianak Student Achieves Success at the Prestigious Putra Putri Dirgantara Event
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK - The University of Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), as a Creative Digital Campus, has once again achieved a remarkable accomplishment through its Pontianak campus. Antik Avelia Carolin, a student from the Information Systems programme, successfully won second place in the Putra Putri Dirgantara Indonesia selection event, held at Lanud Supadio on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
This competition was participated in by 19 participants from various backgrounds. The assessment focused not only on appearance but also on intellectual ability, national insight, personality, and leadership skills. This event, held at Lanud Supadio, serves as a strategic platform for shaping a young generation with strong character and competitiveness.
Antik’s success demonstrates that students can excel not only in academics but also in non-academic events that require multidimensional competence. This aligns with the goals of higher education, which emphasize not only the mastery of knowledge but also the development of soft skills such as communication, self-confidence, and leadership.
Antik Avelia Carolin expressed her gratitude and shared her experiences during the competition. “I am very grateful for this achievement. The process was not easy, but it provided many valuable experiences, especially in improving self-confidence, knowledge, and communication skills,” she said in a press release on Friday, May 15, 2026.
From an academic perspective, this achievement indicates that Information Systems students have a balance between hard skills in technology and soft skills relevant to the needs of the workplace. Participation in events like this also serves as a means of contextual learning that enriches students’ experiences outside the classroom.
This achievement is expected to motivate other students to continue developing their potential and actively participate in various self-development activities.
The Head of UBSI Pontianak Campus, Eri Bayu Pratama, expressed his appreciation and hopes for the students. “We hope that this achievement can be an inspiration for other students to continue to be brave in trying, developing their potential, and being able to compete healthily at both the local and national levels,” he said.
