KUALA LUMPUR — Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) expanded its international academic network through the UBSI Edutrip Singapore-Malaysia programme, which took place from 9 to 12 February 2026. On Wednesday (12 February), students and lecturers from UBSI visited Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) as part of the programme’s itinerary.

The series of activities began with an academic visit to Singapore Management University (SMU). The UBSI delegation was welcomed by SMUKI, a community of Indonesian students studying at SMU. During a discussion session, SMU representatives presented the university’s profile, academic system, and various scholarship opportunities available to international students.

In addition to the academic agenda, participants also explored several Singaporean landmarks including Merlion Park, Gardens by the Bay, the Marina Bay Sands area, Universal Studios Singapore, and the Bugis Street shopping district.

The next visit was conducted at Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), specifically at its Business School. The UBSI delegation was received by Prof. Ilham Sentosa, Ph.D at UniKL. During the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), deliberations focused on strengthening academic cooperation, joint research opportunities, postgraduate programme development, and enhancing industry-based curriculum quality.

In a formal presentation, UniKL representatives explained the institution’s profile, scholarship programmes for master’s and doctoral degrees, as well as student exchange and international cooperation opportunities. Participants were also invited to inspect the learning facilities and supporting laboratories within the UniKL Business School campus.

Cicih Nuraeni, Coordinator of the UBSI Edutrip Programme, said the visit aimed to provide direct international academic experience for students and lecturers. According to her, participants were able to understand the academic system at UniKL, from study programme management to research strengthening. The discussion was not merely ceremonial but also addressed potential concrete follow-up actions in academic and research fields.

The programme aimed to broaden students’ global perspectives, strengthen academic networks, and introduce sustainable technology-based industry practices. Warjiyono, Head of UBSI’s Tegal Campus, affirmed that this activity was part of the campus’s internationalisation strategy in preparing students to face global competition.

For UBSI, known as the “Creative Digital Campus”, this activity serves as an important strategy for building a global network whilst affirming the campus’s position as a driver of digital innovation and student creativity. Through this programme, UBSI reaffirmed its commitment as a Creative Digital Campus in encouraging its academic community to develop a global outlook.
