UBSI Delegation Ready to Expand Global Network at Global Youth Congress 2026 in Thailand

Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), known as the Creative Digital Campus, has again demonstrated its commitment to encouraging students to engage at the international level. Through the Global Youth Congress (GYC) 2026, which will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from Thursday to Saturday, 2-4 July 2026, UBSI is sending three delegates. They are Cicih Nuareni, a lecturer in the English Literature programme, and two students, Bella Amelia from the Information Systems programme and Kayla Shabirah Putri from the Communication Science programme. GYC is part of the Global Youth Conference on Sustainable Development Goals, an international forum that brings together young people from various countries to build collaboration and strengthen the role of the younger generation in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For participants, this activity is not only a learning platform about global issues but also an opportunity to build international networks that can open up future collaboration opportunities. Kayla said one of her biggest reasons for being enthusiastic about participating in the programme was the opportunity to meet and interact with participants from various countries. She sees GYC as a very valuable space for building an international network. ‘There we will meet students, activists, young innovators, and future leaders from various backgrounds. An opportunity like this does not come every day, so I want to make the most of it to learn and establish positive connections,’ said Kayla in a statement quoted on Monday (15/6/2026). According to her, a global network is an important asset for the younger generation in facing the challenges of an increasingly connected and dynamic world. Currently, many problems cannot be solved by one country alone. ‘Therefore, the younger generation needs to have a global perspective and the ability to collaborate with people from various cultures. I hope that during the activity, I can exchange ideas, experiences, and viewpoints with international participants.’ Through agendas such as the Youth Conference, Project Collaboration, and Volunteering Exchange, participants have many opportunities to interact directly with delegates from various countries. Kayla assessed that this experience can broaden horizons while improving cross-cultural communication skills. ‘As a Communication Science student, I am very interested in learning how communication is conducted in a multicultural environment,’ she said. Kayla wants to learn how to build good relationships with people from different backgrounds, while also introducing the culture and spirit of Indonesian youth to the world. Furthermore, she hopes her participation in GYC will open up opportunities for sustainable collaboration after the programme ends. The relationships formed do not stop after the event is over. Who knows, in the future we might collaborate on social projects, SDG campaigns, research, or other youth programmes. ‘A global network is not just about knowing many people, but about creating opportunities to grow and make an impact together,’ she said. She also admitted she wants to use this opportunity to bring a good name to UBSI and show that Indonesian students are capable of competing and contributing in international forums. On the other hand, she wants to prove that Indonesian students have ideas, creativity, and spirit that are no less than participants from other countries. ‘I hope to be a good representative for UBSI as a quality private campus, while also bringing home experience, knowledge, and networks that are useful for personal development and the campus environment,’ said Kayla.
