UBSI and UNDIP Open Academic Collaboration Opportunities
Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), known as the Creative Digital Campus, and Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) have opened opportunities for academic collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP, Semarang, on Friday (14/8/2026). This cooperation marks an initial step to encourage various academic activities, ranging from joint research to the development of lecturer and student competencies.
The MoU signing was attended by leaders and academic representatives from UBSI, including Candra Agustina, Head of the Accounting Information Systems (SIA) Study Programme at UBSI Solo Campus, who attended as a programme representative.
Candra said that the cooperation between UBSI and UNDIP has great potential to be developed into more concrete academic activities. According to him, an MoU should not stop at the administrative aspect, but should become an entry point for building collaborative programmes that benefit both universities.
“This MoU is an initial step to open up broader collaboration space. We hope this cooperation can be followed up through real activities, especially joint research, scientific publications, seminars, and various other academic activities,” Candra said in a release received on Thursday (20/8/2026).
According to Candra, one opportunity that can be developed is cross-institutional research. Collaboration between lecturers from the two universities can bring together different expertise and perspectives, resulting in more comprehensive research.
“Research collaboration is very possible to develop. Lecturers can exchange knowledge and expertise, then raise research topics relevant to technological developments and community needs,” he said.
He added that the cooperation can also be directed towards developing scientific publications. Collaboration among researchers from various institutions is considered capable of opening opportunities to produce stronger scientific works while expanding academic networks.
“Besides research, we also see opportunities to collaborate in publications. This is important for lecturers to continuously improve the quality and productivity of research, while expanding networks with academics from other universities,” he said.
For the Accounting Information Systems Study Programme at UBSI Solo Campus, this cooperation is linked to developments in information systems, information technology, data analytics, and business information management. Rapid technological developments require collaboration space so that universities can produce relevant research.
“The field of Accounting Information Systems continues to develop along with technology. Therefore, collaboration with universities such as UNDIP is an opportunity to broaden insights and develop research that meets current needs,” Candra said.
Not only lecturers, students also have the opportunity to benefit from the cooperation. Candra mentioned that activities such as seminars, workshops, knowledge exchange, and involvement in research projects can serve as means for students to gain academic experience outside their campus environment.
“Students also need broader academic experience. Through this collaboration, they can be involved in seminars, scientific activities, and research, so they have the opportunity to build insights and networks while still studying,” Candra said.
In addition to research and publications, the UBSI and UNDIP cooperation also has the potential to be developed in community service activities. Academic expertise from both universities can be combined to provide solutions to various community problems through the application of science and technology.
Candra hopes that the implementation of the MoU can be realised soon through measurable and sustainable programmes.
“The hope is that this cooperation does not stop at the signing of the MoU. We want concrete follow-up, whether in the form of joint research, publications, academic activities, or community service,” Candra said.
The UBSI and UNDIP collaboration is expected to be a strategic step in expanding the academic networks of both institutions. From the signed MoU, opportunities are open to present various collaborative activities that not only strengthen institutional relations, but also contribute to the development of science, innovation, and community needs.
