UBL Lecturer Promises Cooperation in Investigation over Sexual Harassment Report from Former Student
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Lecturer at Universitas Budi Luhur, Y (48), has promised to cooperate in the investigation regarding a report of alleged sexual harassment filed by his former student, A.
Y stated that through this report, he would present his perspective, as he feels he never committed the acts in question.
“Of course (I will attend if called by the police), because for me, it is a means to convey (the story) from my side,” Y said when met in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/4/2026).
He plans to bring several electronic documents in the form of screenshots that were previously submitted to the UBL Task Force on Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in Education (Satgas PKKPT) during the campus’s internal investigation.
The screenshots originate from the victim’s and reporter’s Instagram account. This includes screenshots from A’s second account, which he obtained from one of the students following A’s account.
“Yes (I will bring them), these are the pieces of evidence that I must present,” he said.
According to him, the verbal and non-verbal harassment attributed to him is untrue.
The statements he made to the victim are considered not vulgar or sexual in nature.
“So if my words at that time, which I did not intend, for example, came out and were then considered as harassment, I can’t do anything about it. And I never made any touches or anything like that,” he explained.
Y’s report is registered under number LP/B/24/2495/IV/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated 10 April 2026.
“We have also reported the person in question with those accounts to Metro Jaya Police for alleged defamation,” he said.
This is because the victim’s initial post claiming to have been harassed by him is deemed to have disrupted his family’s comfort.
In addition, he has been removed from his position as a lecturer and Director of New Student Admissions (PMB).
