UB Student Allegedly Stored Hundreds of Bathing and Video Call Sex Recordings of Internship Colleagues
A case of alleged sexual harassment involving a student at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has gone viral on social media. The perpetrator, a student from the Faculty of Agricultural Bio-Industry and Forestry (FBiPK) at UB with the initial G, is suspected of recording the private activities of several fellow internship participants without permission.
The case first emerged on platform X and was reposted on various other social media accounts. According to reports, the perpetrator is alleged to have stored photos, videos of people bathing, and recordings of video call sex (VCS). The perpetrator is a student from the 2023 cohort.
The suspect is believed to have recorded several fellow internship participants from various universities, including Universitas Lampung (UNILA) and Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD).
The internship took place from July to August 2026, during which the perpetrator and victims lived in the same rented accommodation. The case came to light after a colleague reportedly became suspicious that the perpetrator was engaging in VCS in the bathroom.
The perpetrator was then questioned and admitted to all his actions. This led to the discovery of hundreds of videos of his colleagues bathing and VCS recordings stored in a hidden folder on his mobile phone.
In addition to recording without permission, the perpetrator is also alleged to have made physical contact that caused trauma to the victims. Although he admitted to all his actions, the perpetrator reportedly refused to issue a public apology on social media.
Following the incident, the institution where the internship took place has reportedly imposed initial sanctions on the suspect. Universitas Brawijaya has also confirmed that it is thoroughly investigating the involvement of its student.
The public relations officer of the Faculty of Agricultural Bio-Industry and Forestry (FBiPK) at UB, Arif Rachman Budianto, confirmed that the handling of the case has been handed over to a special campus unit.
“It has been handled through the Integrated Service Unit for Sexual Violence and Bullying at FBiPK UB,” said Arif when confirmed on Saturday (28/8/2026).
