UAE to expedite construction of pipeline crossing Hormuz
Dubai (ANTARA) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will expedite the construction of a pipeline that crosses the Strait of Hormuz, the Abu Dhabi Media Office announced on Friday.
“Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed chaired a meeting of the ADNOC Board of Directors’ Executive Committee, reviewing the progress of the new West-East Pipeline project, which is scheduled to be operational in 2027 and will double ADNOC’s export capacity via Fujairah to meet global energy demand,” the media office said on the X platform.
It was mentioned that the pipeline is currently under construction and is expected to be operational in 2027.
The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic waterway that accounts for approximately 20 percent of global oil, petroleum product, and liquefied natural gas shipments.
