UAE Targeted in Iranian Retaliatory Strike Against US, Issues Warning
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates confirmed that Iranian ballistic missiles targeted its territory. In an official statement, UAE defence authorities reported that their air defence systems worked intensively and successfully intercepted numerous missiles directed at vital installations throughout the country.
Although the majority of threats were neutralised in the air, missile debris falling in residential areas of Abu Dhabi reportedly caused significant material damage. The incident also resulted in one confirmed fatality, with a foreign national from Asia killed by projectile fragments in a densely populated zone.
The UAE government strongly condemned the attack, characterising it as a dangerous escalation deliberately designed to undermine regional stability.
“The Ministry condemns this attack in the strongest terms, emphasising the state’s absolute rejection of targeting civilian objects, facilities, and national institutions, and stressing that such actions constitute a dangerous escalation and cowardly conduct that threatens the security and safety of civilians and undermines stability,” stated the UAE Ministry of Defence in an official statement.
Furthermore, the ministry emphasised that the attack represents a flagrant violation of international law that cannot be overlooked.
“The Ministry emphasises that this targeting constitutes a striking violation of national sovereignty and international law, and that the state possesses the full right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary measures to protect its territory. We are fully prepared and on alert to address any form of threat,” the statement added in emphatic language.
This latest escalation follows major military operations in which the United States, together with Israel, conducted a massive combined air strike against Iranian territory. The military operation targeted strategic infrastructure and Iranian military facilities in response to escalating geopolitical tensions in the region involving Tehran’s nuclear development programme.
The US-Israeli combined strike immediately altered the security landscape in the Gulf, prompting Tehran to activate its aggressive defence doctrine.
In response to this assault, Iran launched extensive retaliatory strikes targeting American military bases across the Middle East, including those located within UAE territory.
