JAKARTA – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy has channelled assistance valued at IDR 1.59 billion to the Istiqlal Mosque Management Board (BPMI) for the provision of iftar meals for worshippers breaking their fast during Ramadhan.

The assistance is designated for 29,900 iftar meal packages that will be distributed to Istiqlal Mosque worshippers over five days, beginning Friday through Tuesday (6–10 March 2026). The symbolic handover of iftar meals took place at the Arrazak Corridor of Istiqlal Mosque, before sunset prayer, on Saturday (7 March 2026).

Matar Ali Al Mansouri, Head of the ASEAN Department at the UAE Embassy, representing UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Aldhaheri, stated that the assistance represents the UAE’s concern for humanitarian activities and charitable work.

“In the field of humanitarian relations, the cooperation between the UAE and Indonesia is based on shared principles, particularly on the UAE’s pure humanitarian heritage and Indonesia’s spirit of mutual cooperation, which realises reciprocal cooperation in social charity,” Matar said in his remarks.

He added that the activity also reflects the values of Islamic brotherhood and social solidarity that are increasingly strengthened during the blessed month of Ramadhan.

“Our meeting today reflects lofty values, namely Islamic brotherhood and social solidarity, which are important values reinforced by the blessed month of Ramadhan, including cooperation in goodness and piety as well as compassion and love of goodness towards fellow Muslims,” he said.
