The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has firmly denied reports alleging it transferred funds to Iran as part of a deal to end attacks against the Gulf state. The UAE Foreign Ministry stated the claims were completely false and baseless, emphasising that no frozen funds had been released, transferred, or facilitated through the UAE.

The denial follows a Reuters report citing two regional sources, which claimed the UAE had agreed to unfreeze at least US$3 billion, with the total deal potentially involving up to US$20 billion. A source familiar with the matter reportedly said the money would be released in return for Iran ceasing missile and drone attacks on the UAE.

Earlier in the week, reports also surfaced that Emirati officials had travelled to Iran following visits by Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officials to the UAE to discuss a potential agreement. The UAE Foreign Ministry urged media outlets to exercise accuracy and rely on official sources, dismissing the circulated information as unverified allegations.
