Abu Dhabi (ANTARA) - The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday (30/4) local time a ban on its citizens travelling to Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq, citing “recent developments” in the region as the reason.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the UAE Foreign Ministry called on all its nationals currently in those countries to leave immediately and return to the UAE as soon as possible to ensure their safety.

The ministry also urged its citizens in Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq to contact the ministry via the designated emergency number, as part of precautionary measures taken by the country to protect the safety of its nationals.

These developments come amid a ceasefire between Iran, the United States, and Israel that took effect on 8 April following 40 days of fighting, as well as a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that took effect at midnight between 16 and 17 April.
