UAE Ambassador Praises Prabowo's Strategic Plan for Indonesia's Future
Jakarta (ANTARA) - United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri has assessed that President Prabowo Subianto’s plans to steer Indonesia in the right direction are highly strategic and can serve as a foundation for the country’s future.
“I think what His Excellency the President conveyed this morning in his speech is a very grand plan to ensure Indonesia moves in the right direction,” Ambassador Abdulla said after attending President Prabowo Subianto’s State Address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) in Jakarta on Friday (14/8).
Ambassador Abdulla said that in his speech, President Prabowo outlined various areas of government achievement and policy, including housing, downstreaming, and international policy.
According to him, the various steps currently being taken by Indonesia can serve as a foundation for better future development.
Ambassador Abdulla expressed confidence that what Indonesia is doing now will become the foundation for a better future for the country. “This is, you know, moving in the right direction,” he said.
In light of these developments, Abdulla expressed hope that bilateral relations between the UAE and Indonesia will continue to move in a positive direction and produce new achievements.
“I very much hope that the relationship between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Indonesia will always remain on the positive side, and we will always see new achievements in that relationship,” he said.
The 2026 Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD were held at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026).
The session was attended by President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, members of the Red and White Cabinet, as well as state guests, including ambassadors and representatives of friendly nations.
A number of former presidents and vice presidents were also present, including Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, 11th Vice President Boediono, and 13th Vice President Ma’ruf Amin.
During the session, President Prabowo delivered a performance report on state institutions and a state address in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
Following the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD, the DPR’s agenda continued with a Plenary Meeting to open the First Session Period of the 2026-2027 Session Year at 14:30 WIB, chaired by Speaker of the DPR Puan Maharani.
At the plenary meeting, President Prabowo delivered a state address concerning the financial note and the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN) for the 2027 Fiscal Year, while Puan delivered the opening speech for the DPR session period.
