UAD Yogyakarta Student Allegedly Harasses Two Female Students During Community Service Programme

Sleman Police have received a report regarding an alleged sexual harassment case involving a male student from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta against two female students during a Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) programme. Sleman Police are now investigating the report. “It is true regarding that information, (the report) has been received by Sleman Police,” said Sleman Police Head of Public Relations, First Inspector Argo Anggoro. “Currently, the case is still under investigation by investigators. We cannot provide further details as the handling process is still ongoing,” he continued. News of the alleged student harassment was uploaded by the Instagram account @bemfhuad. It stated that a student with the initials ACR committed acts of sexual harassment against two female students with the initials FM and ASM. The victims reportedly pursued an internal mechanism by submitting a report to UAD’s Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM). Responding to the matter, Head of UAD’s Public Relations and Protocol Bureau (BHP), Ariadi Nugraha, said the university is also concerned about the incident experienced by the victims. According to him, the LPPM, the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (Satgas PPKPT), and related units have followed up on the report according to applicable procedures. “Currently, LPPM has imposed an initial sanction by cancelling and not granting permission to participate in the KKN process for two periods. This decision has been approved by the parents or guardians of both parties,” Ariadi said in a written statement.
