Students from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) have successfully secured funding through the 2026 Student Entrepreneur Development Programme (P2MW) organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek). The team from UAD’s Industrial Engineering Study Programme consists of Fauzan Khairullah, Rizky Zeptheady Karim, Rofiq Yurdhika, Nadya Maykaysha Widodo, and Muhamad Rafli Nadiansyah.

Through the programme, they developed Moodpatch, an aromatherapy patch product that combines aromatherapy with Yogyakarta’s cultural wisdom. The product is intended as a solution to help reduce stress, particularly among university students and Generation Z.

Moodpatch team leader Fauzan Khairullah expressed gratitude for the team’s success in obtaining the funding. “We are very pleased and grateful to be one of the teams from thousands across Indonesia entrusted by Kemendiktisaintek to realise our business plan,” said Fauzan in a written statement on Wednesday (19/8/2026).

The business idea stemmed from the high mental pressure faced by students due to demanding academic activities and the pressures of daily life. This situation prompted the team to introduce an aromatherapy patch combined with gamelan music to provide a relaxing effect while reintroducing local culture to the younger generation.

Moodpatch embraces Yogyakarta’s culture by naming each variant after wayang characters. The product has four variants. The Semar Series features a Calm character (Tentrem ing Manah) to provide a calming effect. The Arjuna Series features a Relax character (Lega ing Rasa) to help create a sense of relaxation.

Next is the Bima Series with a Focus character (Teteg ing Tujuan) that supports concentration. Meanwhile, the Srikandi Series features an Energy character (Semangat Tanpa Wates) to help boost enthusiasm for activities.

The four variants are paired with the harmony of gamelan music. The team hopes the concept will not only provide a relaxation experience but also serve as a medium to introduce and preserve Indonesian culture. Fauzan said Moodpatch can be used by various age groups. The product is sold at Rp 12,000 per pack.

“In addition to carrying a cultural concept, Moodpatch can also be used by all age groups. This product is available in four variants at an affordable price of Rp12,000 per pack, so it is hoped to be accessible to the wider community, especially young people,” he explained.

The team’s journey to obtaining national funding began with the formation of a team of UAD Industrial Engineering students who shared the same vision of building a business. They then conducted research on problems commonly experienced by students before designing the Moodpatch concept.

After obtaining funding, the team aims for Moodpatch to be marketed more widely, especially to young people. They also aim to qualify for the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo and develop the business to reach the growth stage in the P2MW 2027 programme.

The team hopes Moodpatch can develop into a sustainable business while providing a positive impact on society. They want to help reduce stress levels among young people while introducing local culture through wayang characters and the harmony of gamelan music in a modern and practical product.
