UAD Investigates Sexual Harassment Report, Cancels Suspect's Community Service Programme

An alleged case of sexual harassment has occurred within the campus of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) in Yogyakarta. The harassment is alleged to have been carried out by a male student against two female students during a Community Service Programme (Kuliah Kerja Nyata, or KKN).

The news first surfaced through a post by the Instagram account @bemfhuad. The post stated that a student with the initials ACR had committed acts of sexual harassment against two female students with the initials FM and ASM.

According to the account, the perpetrator had also recounted his actions to numerous parties. The victims were said to have pursued internal mechanisms by filing a report with UAD’s Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM).

In response, Ariadi Nugraha, Head of Public Relations and Protocol at UAD, said the university deeply regretted the incident experienced by the victims. According to him, the LPPM, the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (Satgas PPKPT), and related units had followed up the report in accordance with applicable procedures.

“The LPPM has already issued initial sanctions by cancelling and withholding permission to take part in the KKN process for two periods. This decision has been approved by the parents or guardians of both parties,” Ariadi said in a written statement received by detikJogja on Saturday (11 July 2026).

In addition to the KKN-related sanctions, Ariadi said UAD would also impose academic sanctions on the student concerned. These sanctions will be adjusted according to the severity of the violation based on UAD Rector’s Regulation Number 14 of 2024 on the UAD Student Code of Conduct.

“The academic sanctions for the perpetrator will be adjusted according to the level of the violation committed, based on the regulations in force under UAD Rector’s Regulation Number 14 of 2024 on the UAD Student Code of Conduct,” he said.

Ariadi added that UAD respected the victims’ decision to pursue the legal route over the alleged sexual harassment.

“UAD respects the victims’ decision to take the legal route over this incident. UAD condemns all forms of sexual harassment and continues seriously to prevent sexual harassment through the Satgas PPKPT,” he concluded.
