U-18 soccer tourney resumes

JAKARTA (JP): The national U-18 soccer tournament -- locally known as the Bogasari League -- resumes play on Wednesday with second-round matches held in seven towns.

The tournament features 32 teams divided into eight groups. Chairman of The Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) Agum Gumelar is scheduled to officially open the second round of the league in Malang, East Java.

Malang will host Group F matches, which comprise Persma Manado, Persijap Jepara, Arema and Persema, both from Malang.

Jakarta will organize matches in Group D and E.

Persija plays host to Persiwi Wonogiri, Persikabo Bogor and Persigo Gorontalo in Group E, while Persijatim to Persewangi Banyuwangi, Persikabumi and Persedikab Kediri in Group D.

Other venues will be Deli Serdang (North Sumatra), Bandung (West Java), Surabaya (East Java), Sleman (Yogyakarta) and Makassar (South Sulawesi). (01)
