Tzu Chi Hospital Introduces PET Scan Staycation Package for Out-of-Town Patients
Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans are medical imaging examinations used to observe metabolic activity within cells. This procedure is increasingly in demand for advanced medical evaluations, particularly for cancer staging, monitoring treatment response, and detecting potential recurrence, as well as for neurological and cardiology assessments.
For many patients, the cost of a PET scan remains a significant consideration. In Indonesia, costs typically range from tens of millions to over Rp30 million, depending on the hospital and the specific type of examination. For patients travelling from other cities, these expenses can escalate further due to the need for travel and accommodation.
To address these needs, Tzu Chi Hospital PIK has introduced the ‘Digital PET CT Scan 2D1N Medical Travel Staycation Package’. This service integrates the PET scan examination with accommodation and airport pick-up services. The package is designed for patients who wish to undergo examinations in Jakarta without the hassle of arranging separate travel logistics. It includes a one-night stay and transport from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Oakwood Apartments, PIK. Options are also available for patients travelling with family members or caregivers.
Digital PET CT Scan services at Tzu Chi Hospital PIK start from Rp14,250,000 for basic examinations. Patients seeking a more comfortable experience can upgrade to the Staycation Promo Package, which includes the scan, one night’s accommodation, and airport transfers. This promotional package is available until 31 December 2026. Patients are advised to make reservations at least three days in advance through the Tzu Chi Hospital Nuclear Medicine Administration.
Several factors can influence the cost of a PET scan, including the scope of the examination—such as a whole-body scan versus a targeted area scan—as well as the technology used and the use of radiopharmaceuticals. Additional amenities like accommodation and transport also affect the total package price. Therefore, when comparing costs, patients should consider the completeness of the service and the level of comfort provided alongside the base examination fee.
