A joint team successfully evacuated a two-year-old Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) from a trap cage in Jorong Palimbatan, Nagari Pasie Laweh, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, on Wednesday. The evacuation was carried out by the West Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) together with the Nagari Patrol Team (Pagari) and members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and National Police. The tiger was sedated by a veterinary team before being removed from the cage. The animal had entered the trap after reportedly preying on livestock belonging to local residents.
