President Prabowo Subianto opened a Plenary Cabinet Session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, all ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the President’s Special Envoys, and heads of high state institutions. In his speech, President Prabowo stated that this cabinet session was deliberately held mid-year to welcome the 17 August celebrations and to mark two years of the administration. According to him, an evaluation is necessary to see how many programmes have been achieved and what needs to be improved to accelerate policies that are still pending. “Approaching two years, we have worked very hard, very intensively. By working so hard and intensively, we ourselves do not fully realise how much we have achieved in our first two years,” said President Prabowo. President Prabowo said that over nearly two years, the government has faced many major challenges, particularly amidst a turbulent global situation. However, he asked all members of the Red and White Cabinet not to be daunted in facing the nation’s various problems and to focus on solving them. President Prabowo stressed that the government does not intend to find fault or compare performance with previous administrations. According to him, each administration has its own challenges in its respective era. Furthermore, President Prabowo said that all ministers and heads of institutions are elements of the nation’s leadership who have received a mandate to face and resolve various national issues.
