Two Women Found Dead in Banyumas Under Disturbing Circumstances

Banyumas – The Banyumas Resort Police (Polresta) and Patikraja Sector Police (Polsek) are investigating the case of two women found dead in a house in Patikraja Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java. Patikraja Police Chief, Adjunct Commissioner Eko Sutanto, stated on Friday that after receiving the report around 7:00 a.m. local time, he and his personnel, along with the identification team from Polresta Banyumas, immediately went to the location to process the crime scene. He said the investigation is ongoing to uncover the cause of death of the two victims. The victims have been identified by the initials AA, estimated to be around 18 years old, and K, around 80 years old. AA was found in a room not used as a bedroom, whilst K was discovered inside a well on the property. ‘The victim with the initial K was found in the well, so we requested assistance from the Banyumas SAR Unit to carry out the evacuation,’ he said. The police chief noted that the victims’ full identities and other details are still being investigated as officers continue to gather evidence and information at the scene. A local resident, Sudarmo (73), said the incident came to light after he became suspicious because the lights in K’s house were still on in the morning. ‘It was already morning, around half past six, but the house lights were still on,’ he said. Sensing something was amiss, he asked other residents to check on the house. Upon inspection, the house was locked from the inside and there was no answer when they knocked on the door. Residents then asked a family member to force the door open. After the door was opened, residents found a man inside. However, when asked about K’s whereabouts, the man, identified by the initials AR alias D, claimed he did not know. During a search of the house, residents found a young woman who was not a resident of the house, dead with visible injuries. ‘Suddenly, there was a person covered in blood,’ he said.
