Two West Lombok Men Arrested Smuggling Half a Kilogram of Methamphetamine to Bima
Two men with the initials SH (46) and SL (42) from West Lombok have been arrested by police in Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), for drug smuggling. The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Bima Police seized half a kilogramme of methamphetamine from the pair. “Currently, both suspects and all evidence have been secured at the Bima Police Satresnarkoba for further legal processing,” said Bima Police Narcotics Chief, AKP Dediansyah, on Wednesday (23/6/2026). SH and SL were arrested in Talabiu Village, Woha District, Bima Regency, on Monday (22/6/2026) at around 2.30 p.m. Central Indonesian Time. The arrest began when police received information that a black Avanza was transporting methamphetamine to Bima Regency. The Bima Police Satresnarkoba then conducted an investigation after receiving the tip. Based on the investigation results, police stopped the car driven by SH and SL as it passed through Talabiu Village. Officers subsequently found a large package of methamphetamine weighing 535 grammes stored in a bag. “In addition to the half-kilogramme of methamphetamine, two black plastic bags, one cloth bag, and one Android mobile phone were also found in the car driven by SH and SL,” Dediansyah explained. Initial examination revealed that SL and SH admitted to obtaining the illicit substance from Mataram. They were instructed by an individual with the initials BKT to collect the methamphetamine package from a man known only by the code 06 in Dasan Cermen Subdistrict, Sandubaya District, Mataram. “After collecting the methamphetamine, SL and SH admitted they were directed to pick up a car in the Jempong area of Mataram, which was used to transport the package to Bima Regency,” Dediansyah stated. Dediansyah stressed that all statements from SH and SL are still being investigated as part of the inquiry to uncover their narcotics distribution network. Investigators are also continuing to develop the case to trace the origin of the methamphetamine and pursue other parties suspected of involvement in the network. “We are continuing to develop this case to uncover the chain of narcotics distribution suspected of involving a cross-district network between Lombok Island and Bima Regency,” Dediansyah asserted.
