Two Weeks Remain: 8.12 Million Annual Tax Returns Still Outstanding
Jakarta — The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) reported that the number of annual Personal Income Tax (PPh) returns filed for the 2025 tax year has reached 8,125,023 returns as of 15 March 2026.
Inge Diana Rismawanti, Director of Education, Services, and Public Relations at the DJP, detailed that the majority of filings came from individual taxpayers with January–December 2025 fiscal years. “Of the total filings, individual employee taxpayers submitted 7,200,487 returns, whilst individual non-employee taxpayers submitted 754,990 returns,” Inge stated in an official statement on Monday (16 March 2026).
For corporate taxpayers with different fiscal years that began filing from 1 August 2025, filings totalled 1,403 returns for corporations in rupiah and 21 returns for corporations in US dollars.
In addition to return filings, Inge also reported developments in account activation for Coretax DJP, the new tax administration system. By mid-March 2026, the number of taxpayers who had activated Coretax accounts reached 16,354,088. This comprises 15,315,349 individual taxpayers, 948,165 corporate taxpayers, and 90,348 government agency taxpayers.
The DJP reminded taxpayers that filing deadlines differ between individual and corporate taxpayers. Individual taxpayers must file annual returns by 31 March 2026 at the latest, whilst corporate taxpayers have until 30 April 2026. The DJP urged taxpayers to submit their annual returns before the deadline to avoid administrative sanctions and to ensure the filing process runs smoothly.
