Two Weeks in HCU: KontraS Says Andrie Yunus's Condition Remains Unstable
The Chairman of KontraS’s Board of Trustees, Indria Fernida, revealed that Andrie Yunus is currently undergoing intensive treatment in the High Care Unit (HCU). She made this statement while attending a meeting at Commission III of the House of Representatives on Tuesday (31/3) in Jakarta.
According to Indria, due to serious burns and eye injuries following the sulphuric acid attack, Andrie must be strictly isolated to prevent infection. He has only been allowed visits from family and one KontraS official over the past two weeks for eye and burn treatment.
“His condition is far from good, although from the outside it doesn’t look like there’s clearer information,” Indria said at the parliamentary complex.
On the other hand, the Coordinator of KontraS’s Working Body, Dimas Bagus Arya, asked Commission III of the House of Representatives to affirm the jurisdiction of this case and accelerate its resolution. He emphasised the need for the police to deepen the investigation, including the collection of evidence.
“We still have one imagination or one assumption that the police have the intention to continue this case using the basis of argumentation in the Criminal Procedure Code,” Dimas stated.
Meanwhile, the family and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency continue to provide special assistance amid the recovery process.
